Whitney Brown to Lead Safe Harbor Recovery Center

Whitney Brown to Lead Safe Harbor Recovery Center

November 16, 2021

Granite Pathways and Safe Harbor are excited to announce that Whitney Brown has assumed management of Safe Harbor Recovery Center!

Whitney has been a valued employee of Granite Pathways for 3 years. Many of you know her through her management of our Job Launch program where she has been instrumental in supporting many of our members to prepare for and get back to work or to pursue education and training to further their career and job prospects. Others may remember her as a facilitator of Parenting Journey in Recovery classes. Some may simply recall her welcoming and supportive presence here when you stopped by Safe Harbor to find fellowship in a meeting or activity.

As a long-time resident of the Seacoast, Whitney knows and is well-respected within the community. We are confident that her transition as leader of the Center will be smooth and that she has the skills and passion to take the Center to the next level!

Please join us in welcoming Whitney to this new role!

Hook Up Culture: The Pressures on our Kids

Hook Up Culture: The Pressures on Our Kids

Presented by Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-Free Youth, Cindy Pierce, author and comedic storyteller will discuss the myth of hookup culture.

Many young people mask their confusion about relationships and sex and rely on the Internet to answer their questions. Hookup culture has become normalized and even glorified through cultural messaging and peer pressure online and off. Young people regularly express the challenges of social and sexual anxiety and the pressure to conform, as well as confusion about what norms are appropriate. Cindy finds that to an overwhelming extent, teens experience direct and indirect pressure from peers to hook up.

Seacoast Pathways Earns Accreditation from Clubhouse International

Seacoast Pathways Earns Accreditation from Clubhouse International

Seacoast Pathways, part of Granite Pathways, a company of The Fedcap Group, is proud to announce that it has received accreditation from Clubhouse International (CI), a membership organization representing more than 300 locally managed Clubhouses in nearly 40 US states and more than 30 countries. Learn more about this process via Seacoast Pathways News.

Executive Director Ann Strachan noted that accreditation is significant because it signals to mental health organizations, state agencies, and members of the community that the clubhouse is always improving, and accreditation opens up more opportunities for funding and partnerships.
