Recognizing the challenges faced by families immersed in the statewide crisis of addiction the Division of Children Youth and Families in New Hampshire (DCYF) has introduced a collaborative approach to support children and parents affected by Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) through the Strength to Succeed Program (STS). STS is a voluntary program based on a trust-based model of peer-to-peer support from staff who have lived through their own adversities and have had positive outcomes. New Hampshire is one of three states currently implementing this practice within child welfare. Kentucky and California are models being used to develop and build the program in New Hampshire
